Vanessa Tanner
Litigation Counsel
Vanessa went to McGill University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Women’s Studies. She then graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2000 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2002. She has been practicing in insurance civil litigation for nearly 10 years.
Vanessa has extensive court experience and as such, she has recently joined Srebrolow Lebowitz Spadafora at litigation counsel for their trial division. As of March 2011, she will be representing the firm and their clients in court and before Ontario’s various tribunals. As preparation for this role as litigation counsel to SLS PC, she has appeared as lead counsel on a number of Superior Court jury and judge alone trials, appeals in the Divisional Court, hearings at the Workers’ Compensation Tribunal, and arbitrations before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. She has of course also appeared to argue a variety of motions, as well has participated at countless mediations and pre-trial conferences.
Vanessa represents her clients in personal injury tort and accident benefit matters, as well as subrogation and property damage litigation.
She is a member of elected council for the Ontario Bar Association, an active member of the Advocates Society personal injury advocacy group, and the Ontario Trial Lawyers’ Association.
